The heat produced by burning firewood is actually the energy from the sun. |

Through photosynthesis, trees store the sun's energy. Burning wood reverses this process, releasing the sun's heat when we most need it.
Wood is also the only totally renewable, affordable and reliable (year round) fuel source we have. Unlike the burning of fossil fuels (which contribute greatly to the greenhouse effect and must inevitably become exhausted in the decades ahead), well-seasoned firewood, produces no more greenhouse gases than if the trees were left to rot in the forest. Did you know that an efficient woodburner can produce up to 7 times the kilowatt/hour heat of gas or electric heating, and for approximately half the price? |
