The Facts on Firewood

• Fact - Electricity is subject to potential supply problems and price fluctuations.
• Fact - It is estimated that the Maui LPG gas wells will dry up earlier than expected, meaning LPG will have to be imported or other local sources opened up.
• Fact - Affordable solar and wind generated heating alternatives are some way off and both are very susceptible to the vagaries of the weather
• Fact - The supply of diesel heating oil is at the whim of OPEC.
• Fact - Fossil fuels must eventually be depleted worldwide.
• Fact - Firewood is a totally renewable resource. As a by-product of our forestry industry, firewood is the only readily available, efficient and sustainable home heating fuel.
