Macrocarpa is a medium density wood which means it is still easy to light, while giving off good heat and burning for a reasonable amount of time.

It is a versatile wood; the medium density means it can be burnt by itself, or in conjunction with a softer wood such as Pine to get the fire started, or a hard wood such as Blue Gum to keep your fire going for longer.
