Buying firewood is a bit like ordering a coffee:

1. Choose your size. How many cubic metres you need.

2. Choose your strength. Softwood, medium or hardwood – like a single, double or triple shot. Harder wood burns hotter and longer, so it costs more but gives you more heat per piece.

3. Don’t worry about moisture. With most firewood, some of what you pay for is water that boils off and gives you no heat. All our firewood is kiln dried at high temperatures, so it’s as dry as wood gets across every species. You can assume everything below is dry and ready to burn.

Firewood prices

Prices are per cubic metre (m³). Delivered loads come in 3m³, 6m³ and 9m³ – the per-m³ rate is the same, so a 3m³ load of Value Mix is 3 × $194 = $582.

Garden products: $60 delivery in the local Christchurch area, more for outer areas.

Free trailers. Our 1.5m³ trailers are free to borrow with a wood purchase. We can load your truck or trailer, or you can use our loading bays to fill your car at no charge. A car boot holds about 0.5m³.

Firewood dryness options

Kiln dried

Force dried at high temperature, well below what nature can reach. Hotter, more efficient and ready whenever you need it. Our recommended option.

Semi-dry

A lower-cost convenience option. We partially dry it; you give it another 2–3 months somewhere with good airflow (not straight into a closed garage) before it’s ready.

Dry It Yourself

Our lowest-cost option. Cut from logs and delivered soon after, with full drying instructions so you can finish the job and save. You take responsibility for drying it correctly, so it suits people with a good airy spot and a bit of lead time. Available for delivery October to December only.
